Happy NYC Climate Week
September 21, 2024 (Review of Week
EOY-15)
I don’t have an essay for you on last week, but welcome to NYC Climate Week! It’s a bit overwhelming, frankly – and since there are many virtual events, everyone who wants a taste of it can join in! If you’re interested, go to the agenda - BJ
Metrics
- Unique Buildings: 5,588 (Aug)
- Annual Run Rate: $1.3M (unchanged)
- Monthly net burn: $60K (averaged over last 3 months)
- 2024 Transaction fees to date: $6,257.34 from CPC (no change from last week) and ??? from LL97 PECM
- Outstanding invoices as of today: $53,749.37 (-$19,899 week over week)
Last Week’s Highlights
- We released the new dashboard and new suggested scopes to all users! The dashboard was a long time coming, and early feedback from users is positive! (FH)
- We demoed the progress on going national– including new measures, scopes, and Massachusetts rebates–for Marc and Jessica. These regular demos help keep us focused on making incremental progress and staying aligned on priorities. (FH)
Any missing highlights? Please share in Slack comments.
Watch List
For me, same as last week (bj):
- 2024 Revenue Our revenue projection for 2024 was back-loaded, which we knew was a risk. Marc is working on a revised revenue expectation for Q4, and Erika will need to work out how much of the other grant line items are going to be received, so that we can a clear expense budget for the rest of the year.
- Pace of product delivery continues to be a challenge. We have a lot in early 2025 that depends on more streamlined and faster product delivery. Jason has been working on a unified list.
- Onboarding is improving, but still has a ways to go.
- Recruiting like the song says, “always on my mind”! Hopefully also on your mind!
- Focus we always have a lot going on, especially with external partnerships. Having a lot that competes for our attention is a risk (even if we seem to do OK balancing things).

I’m definitely feeling the tech team stuff. The excitement/pressure of getting the Generic Projects functionality wrapped up, and the need to hone our processes to move faster.

Every year I think I’ve done some kind of technical analysis for Climate Week to support someone’s announcement or panel discussion, but I don’t think I’ve ever attended an event. This is a NYC specific thing, right?

Would love to get more specifics on this front! Who said what?
