Earning Happy Customers!

May 24, 2024 (Review of Week 21)

I feel like we really rallied around customer happiness this week across all our work streams, whether it was Prod folks worked on delivering CPC improvements or Rev team on the contractor process. This is literally the most important thing for our long-term success: Happy prospective customers, investors/prospective investors, and partners are all great, but sooner or later we’ll be dead in the water if our actual customers aren’t happy (a spoonful of obviousness, as Marc calls it, but all these other stakeholders can muddy the waters). Here’s to more of that!

Revenue

  • Current subscription ACV: $425.3k

  • 2024 ARR: $152k

  • 2024 Transaction fees: $1,117.34

  • Outstanding invoices as of today: $192,963.51

This Week’s Highlights

  • Congrats to Product team on release 63! in case you haven’t seen the CPC improvements: cpc dashboard and editing bids on Bluedot.

  • So very close to the first LL97 bids! Really exciting to see this get off the blocks, and according to Marc, everyone he talks to is like, “yes, sign me up.”

  • Good convo with IMT on supporting the hubs - Marc says the most important thing is a happy CPC, then the partnership with the Relay Network, and then after that comes hubs and everything else, and I’m glad we have that clarity, because boy, lots of moving parts to GGRF.

  • Fundraising planning has kicked off, targeting a Sept raise, with some hope that someone might preempt us in June.

  • Top flight team for NYSERDA’s building data RFP. We will be proposing with SWA, Taitem (99%), Altanova, and HR&A. If I saw this roster and I was the person doing the RFP, I would have been very, very excited. It’s a great team.

My Watchlist

  • Meeting CPC’s needs. Can’t overstate how important it is to have a happy CPC – let’s see how next week’s meeting goes!

  • Partnerships: Accelerator, GGRF, NYSERDA Data RFP. Lots of strategizing about relationships and winning teams.

  • Onboarding: Looking forward to getting more feedback, both from ML+KJ and from SOC2 process

  • Dev pipeline: I’m looking to the prod team to keep on improving communication and process!

  • Metrics: I think we’ve stalled a bit, but that’s OK for right now.

  • Don’t be a series of small businesses: Marc and I are shopping for some founder coaching to make sure we’re staying on a venture-scale path.

On Deck for Next Week

  • Monday is Memorial Day! Enjoy beach, BBQ, family, etc.!

  • Prepping Raise: we need to do homework (new competition survey, revised revenue projection, etc)

  • Accelerator applications: Wells Fargo/NREL’s IN2 program and Elemental Excelerator will go in next week.

  • Fundraising prep meeting w Catalyst

  • CPC benchmarking meeting

And here’s what’s on my radar screen - what am I forgetting?
