New revenue this week: $152K
2024 New customers: 1
Outstanding invoices as of today: $310K, including Related
Are these the right metrics to be reminded of weekly? Probably not. Looking to the work that Erika and Chuck are doing to improve them shortly!
321 Go! launch: Kudos to Marc and Erika on a great launch event - NYSERDA AND HPD had very positive, hopeful things to say about the program. A small fraction of the people who registered for the event actually came in person, but I don’t think that’s indicative of anything other than people have really given themselves permission to flake out on RSVPs post-pandemic.
Production outage: We had one and we handled it nicely as a team. We now have Jeff to help us improve QA.
Related Companies: Truly due to Marc’s prior relationship with Related that we’re able to put this logo on our client list. Now that they’ve signed, the hard work will start for Marc – and his new hire, when we find the right person! It took a solid year to get them under contract! All the more reason to be glad that we have diversity in our channels! Congratulations, Marc!
New squares on the Meets screen: Welcome (again) Jeff and Kendall!
Dev pipeline: Nothing new here - we have a lot, time is dripping away, and so I’m continuing to poke and prod about what we can streamline, simplify, etc. so we can give Marc a tool for 321 Go!’s 300 buildings (and beyond) and a national product for him to demo in July.
Decarb PM: So far, we’ve had 121 job submissions and so far the initial resume review pass rate is about 50%. This post stays up for another couple weeks, but we’ll start prioritizing for interviews next week.
Designers: Lots of time needed to get through the recruiting, but there are quite a not of promising candidates! 66 applications, 40+ initial screens to schedule.
Churn: We are starting to see churn and for the most part, we seem to be doing it to ourselves by not attempting to get the renewals done in time. There’s a lot going on, but this is one that feels like it ought to be higher on our short-term to-do list.
FinOps: Crossing the Ts and dotting the Is on 2023; closing Jan and Feb books correctly; and getting annual review draft. Still in progress.
Metrics: We’re nearing the end of Q1 and we haven’t yet been able to generate them. It’s not immediately critical path for either sales or product, but the sooner we can start working with even a little bit of a performance orientation, the better we’ll be positioned for fundraising and such a year from now. It’s not a high priority and it’s on my watchlist mainly because I don’t have enough information about eta.
Recruiting. Lots and lots of it.
Monthly investor check-ins (already!) with Great Wave VC and Catalyst. Cultivation call with Alate.
Product: I’m looking forward to seeing the unified add building get launched and the game plan for generic project! I plan not to be around for prod meetings next week, so I’ll expect to catch up asynch.
And here’s what’s on my radar screen - what am I forgetting?

| Jason Block | Some big successes last week!! I am also interested in new, different metrics–more product-related. Not just for us, but at some point we need to deliver those to Willdan. Seems like it’s coming soon. |
| Jeffry Luna | How much of an impact did that churn do vs revenue- also just curious,- do we have tools like userstory, etc that has data on which areas in the app clicked, or spent time on, and which ones they just didn’t use? BJ: Tiny. We churned $15k so far. One of them is sort of intentional - we’re waiting to upsell them rather than get the renewal. There is one more that expires in 2 weeks that needs to get a renewal invoice. We don’t yet have those tools and it would be great to start doing that. We tried Hotjar but no one ever looked at it. |
