Power to All Our Friends

May 3, 2024 (Review of Week 18)

Sorry I skipped last week’s review memo. I must have burnt out a little bit – I started it, left it for the weekend, and completely forgot all about it.

The past 2 weeks have included a lot of catching up with folks in the industry, partly because events leading up to Earth Day resulted in a bunch of deferred “oh, we should get together” appointments and partly because everyone in energy and community development is currently involved in sector-wide brownian motion to find their place in the GGRF ecosystem. Here are hot takes on the past 2 weeks of conversations:

  1. We have a lot of friends who are getting serious about partnering. It’s really gratifying to be at a point where people are willing to risk their business on our software.

  2. We’re filling a real need. All the time I hear “this is so needed” after I demo the software or talk about the “coin sorter” front-of-funnel idea.

  3. A whole lot of people have heard of us. My inboxes have a steady trickle of messages saying “more than one person has talked to me about Cadence OneFive”

Revenue

  • Current subscription ACV: $425.3k

  • 2024 ARR: $152k

  • Outstanding invoices as of today: $263k

This Week’s Highlights

  • NYC Accelerator RFP teaming discussions started with Willdan, SWA, BrightPower, etc. We discussed this at some length in the Perm Staff Meeting - check it out! These conversations so far have been really great!

  • We heard CPC is closing their first loan, which means we’re about to get our first transactional revenue from CFHF!

  • Congrats and thanks to Erika Parkins on completing the B Corp certification application! More on this topic also in the Perm Staff Meeting.

  • Congrats to the prod team on the progress so far on Generic Projects!

My Watchlist

  • Partnerships: Accelerator, GGRF.

  • Onboarding: very curious to see what goes smoothly next week and where the corners still are on this wheel!

  • Dev pipeline: A lot of work ahead of us!

  • Metrics: I’ve started to pull in the application metrics into the financial reporting…still need to finish it up!

  • Don’t be a series of small businesses: Marc and I are shopping for some founder coaching to make sure we’re staying on a venture-scale path.

On Deck for Next Week

  • We’ll get to welcome Martine and Kate! Whoot!

  • First big-table meeting with the potential teaming partners for Accelerator RFP

  • First partner meeting with Aligned Climate Capital…they have been following our progress for 2 years and they are on the face a very good match. We’ll see!

  • Personally, I’m looking forward to a week with more desk time, so I can get through the whole of my to-do list!

And here’s what’s on my radar screen - what am I forgetting?

François Huet Lots of great news, and also massive amount of work ahead of us. All of it is super exciting! It’s really motivating that we can be proud of what we’re delivering, but also how we’re delivering it - congrats Erika on getting us through B Corp certification!

Jason Block I’m excited about the potential for the Accelerator tent. I am so curious about the details. What’s our main theme/pitch? What will BP and SWA be doing that’s complementary and not worried about competition? Anyone else in this tent? I’m happy to be a sounding board on any of this if it would be useful.Also-I’m excited about GP coming together and finally getting the start of a new building scoping page design. These were long-coming changes, and they are starting to feel more concrete!
