Friends + Family

Hi friends,Happy Sunday! We’re between quarterly updates, but wanted to share some recent wins (and then I’m going to go pack to take the kids to Korea for 3 weeks on Tuesday!). Thank you very much for your support of Cadence OneFive!

Updates:

  • Landed L+M Development Partners as a customer. L+M is a big, influential private affordable housing developer in NYC (national top 25) with an affordable housing portfolio of 40,000 units. L+M will be using Momentum to evaluate retrofits for nearly a third of its portfolio. We’re really excited to have them as a design partner in figuring out our owner-facing features.
  • Signed subcontract to use NYSERDA funds to research how to support heat pump contractors via Momentum. It’s a pretty big check that we’ve been anticipating literally as long as we have been in business! This gives us the budget to hire an additional Mechanical Engineer (mid-level or senior-level) and still operate in the black for this year!
  • We’re now a NYC Certified Minority Business Enterprise. This is important to us because we’re adjacent to the “govtech” space: public agencies and utilities (and affordable housing organizations) have goals they have to meet in contracting with MBEs. Fun fact: getting certified took about the same amount of due diligence as when I was appointed by the mayor to the NYC City Planning Commission, except that the MBE certification took about 10x longer. We’re now in the process of getting the NY State MBE certification!

Asks: - Would someone know be excited to be one of our backers? We’ve raised $85k so far from individual investors like you, and it’d be great to get it to a nice round $100k!I hope you’re having a great summer! See you in the fall!
